Happy Thanksgiving!

Mark and I spent Thanksgiving with the Call Family in Mesa.  It was absolutely gorgeous weather the entire time - we had a wonderful time  - it was hard to come back to the cold weather here!
Grams made enough pie filling for the army!

Beautiful day to hang Christmas lights!

We called Reese for her 4th birthday on the 26th.  She was one excited little girl!  I saw her the week before and gave her a new blanket (which Bronson loved!)

Thirty years ago today, Nov. 20, 1981 we decided to go to the Logan Temple to celebrate our 2nd  anniversary.  We went to dinner and then bought a new Christmas "cassette" to listen to on the way home.  At the Newton/Mendon intersection another vehicle (drinking and decided not to stop at the stop sign and broadsided us.   I was thrown out the windshield (seatbelts were not enforced or worn too much back then - big mistake!).  Mark was tangled in the steering wheel but managed to get out and find me. He thought the truck was on fire so he drug me up by the road. (It was really just dust).  Roy and Anne (Mark's sister) had been to the temple also with some friends and were on their way home when they saw the accident.  They were with a Highway Patrolman so they stopped to help.  The first thing I remember is Roy standing over me asking me if I'm okay.  I said my legs really hurt which he said was a good thing!
We took an ambulance ride to the Logan Hospital with all of us (4 people) in the same one.   Mark's parents met us at the hospital to take Mark home.  He had some broken ribs.  I was admitted with torn ligaments in my shoulder.  (Legs weren't broken!)  I was released the next day to go home.  I looked like heck and was extremely sore for a while but very grateful to be alive!
Katie (who had just turned 1) was at Roy and Anne's with their kids when we went to the Temple.  She stayed with them for a couple of days while we recovered.
I know we were being watched over that night.  So many "tender mercies" were given to us and we are so thankful and grateful for all of them.  We still love to go to the Temple!
Mark was so sad about his totaled brand new truck.  We went over to get everything out of it.  We never did get the cassette out of it.  It had a camper shell on it which was thrown off - it's sitting in the back of the truck.  ...and yes I look extremely scarry but I wanted to document this story.

Fall Break

For Fall Break I went down to the Valentine House for a couple of days.  Katie and I bottled Apple Pie Filling (forgot to take pictures to prove it!)  It sure is yummy!  We did some sewing and played with kids.

Hungry Hadley - she really is such a good baby!

Sweet baby!
...and here's a few of the projects I've finally finished!

This little blanket has a story - it used to be mine - then was Katie's and now it's Hadley's!   It had a silky edge on it that was literally in shreds.  I cut off the binding and made a new/old blankie for Hadley!

Stockings for the newest additions to the family- just need the initials.

Rag Rug - goes fast and it's super simple to do!

Got a flu shot - (this was a week later)

Blessing Day

Hadley Kate Valentine was given her name and blessing this past Sunday.  Jed came down with a stomach bug Saturday night so she was blessed at home (he didn't dare venture too far from home!)  It was a beautiful day and so nice to spend it with our family.
Ready for her special day

General Conference Family Weekend

We had a mini family gathering over General Conference this weekend.  We were missing a few (Aaron, Abby, Dax and Landon) but we still had a great time.
Shara, Tawnya, Carole, Katie and Nappy (and Bronson)

The girls usually come up with a project to do - hair bows were the item this time.

Nappy gave Bronson a "buzz"

Adorable little Hadley Kate

This little baby girl reminds me so much of her mommy when she was a baby!

My girls.

Sisters Weekend/2011

"Sisters Weekend" commenced once again on Sept. 22, 2011.  Shopping seems to be at the top of the list every year and this year was no exception.  First stop - Dillards (followed by MANY, many more)
"In and Out" burgers for dinner -
Enjoying a "Village Inn" breakfast with Uncle Ross and Aunt Mary Jo.  (sorry to cut you out Anne)
Texas Roadhouse dinner -(eating is second on the list!)
We sure had a good time (although we missed Elaine this year.)

Mom's Visit

My mom's dear cousin, Jerry Mortensen,  passed away while I was in Mesa.  Mom flew back with me to attend his funeral in Orem.  It was so nice to have her stay with us for about 10 days!
Mom playing my pump organ - she got a workout!
