PLAYROOM FUN (Day 9)

We went to see Lucas last night at the hospital. He's doing much better and hopefully will get to go home soon. We stopped at Rubio's to pick up some dinner (Katie is sick of hospital cafeteria food) and had a fun evening playing in the "Playroom". It's so nice to see Lucas up and around and having a little fun.

Figuring out this silly game!
Lucas, Nappy and Dad having fun
Not sure who won this game?
Grampa Mark playing with the "Etch a Sketch"
Kody playing with Mom - (we've sure enjoyed having this little guy around!)

Kody playing with the animals - is that the cutest little head?!
"Thanks for taking such good care of me Mom - I love you"!

Thanks Lucas for a fun evening! We had so much fun playing. We love you tons and are so glad you're feeling much better. See you soon. Love, Grama Carole

What a Trooper!

Lucas is still at PCMC and is quite the little trooper (some of the time)! I got to stay overnight with him Sunday so Katie, Jed, and Shara could go to Spanish Fork and get some things and some much needed sleep. He does not like to be woke up in the night to get his vitals checked - especially his blood pressure! He ate really good that night - Pizza (special made just for him) and Sprite! He's still on a very strict diet due to high potassium and phosphorous levels.
We just keep hoping and praying that his little kidneys will start to work properly again so that he can go home! We are so thankful for medical technology and Dr.s and nurses that can help make him better. We are so glad Shara was able to come and help Katie understand and read the stat sheets everyday. She's been a great help staying with her. We missed little Abby not coming but it was easier to leave her with her other Grama this time.
Thanks to Grace and Jim for opening up their house to our family members. They are always so kind and generous when things like this happen. They live so close to PC and it makes it so convenient and comfortable to sleep in beds instead of couches!
I brought Kody home with me for a few days until we know when Lucas can go home. I think he's wondering where his mom, dad and Lucas went. He did get to see Lucas a little bit and was excited to see him.
For more informed and detailed updates go to Katie's blog: valentinefam.blogspot.com.
Thanks to everyone again and again for all you've done. We've had so much love and support shown to our family through this little trial. That's why we've been given families and friends - to help smooth out the bumps in the road. We love you all and can't thank you enough!

Little Lucas

Our little Lucas is a very sick little boy. He's been at PCMC since Wednesday. He has E-Coli (no idea where he got it yet). (To read more and follow updates go to Katie's blog.)
I've been taking care of Kody here at their house since Wednesday. I'm sure he's wondering where the heck his mom and dad and Lucas are!
Thank you so much for all the prayers, fasting, phone calls, messages, and concern you are showing the Valentine Family. We are so blessed to have such a great extended family and wonderful friends. You are the best and we love you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Mark, Jessica and I headed south for Christmas this year. This was our "off" year with the kids so we decided to go see the Call's and Clouse's. We had a great time playing with Abby and watching her Christmas morning. After opening gifts we had Bubble Bread and Russian Tea. We spent Christmas Eve with my mom and dad and we had Christmas dinner with the Germaines. Jessica had to fly back to Utah the 26th so I don't have any pictures of her. (I obviously didn't take any Christmas morning! (look at Shara's blog). It rained most of Christmas day and then it was beautiful the rest of the time. We picked oranges from Max and Jeanie's orchard to bring back -thanks so much! We are still enjoying the fresh OJ every morning.

Watching Gramps with his new toy!
So adorable in her Christmas Dress(with gold beads from Vegas!)

(Tried to delete this one - still don't know how!)
Shara and AC rockin' out!
We left early Monday morning (29th) and drove all the way to Spanish Fork/Springville. Tawnya had dinner ready for us and then they all played Rock Band. We spent the night with the Valentine's and headed home the next day.
Tawnya, Reese and Lucas came up New Year's Eve to spend a few days - Lucas helped Gramps scrape the driveway (even though he wasn't feeling too good). We had lots of fun playing games New Year's Eve with Nancy and Melissa.
Lucas took these two pictures - pretty good little photographer I'd say - (even though I had to delete about 50 other ones!)
As you can see we've had a very busy, eventful, lots of driving, lots of fun, food, family time, lovely gifts, and now it's back to work and school!
