Gramps 99th Birthday

Grant Brunker Nicholas –  born on Jan. 11th, 1914.  (That was a long time ago!) Slowing down but still going!  Such a great man.

"the Leader" (2013)

Good Cook
Made “the Leader” this week!  (That’s what happens when your SIL works there and she’s in a pickle!)  I did this same thing about 30 years ago (for the same paper!) when I only had two kids!   I’ll have to see if I can find it.

the Leader (1984)

I found the old newspaper clipping from 29 years ago!  Katie was 3 and Shara was 18 months.  (and I was 24!)

Baptism Talk 007

So proud of our grandson Lucas who was baptized on January 5th!   It was such a nice day (despite the freezing cold outside).  Because he was the only one that was baptized in his ward, he got to plan the program.  He asked his Grandma Valentine to speak on Baptism and I got to speak about Holy Ghost.   It was an honor!  He is such a handsome young man and is such a good example to his younger brothers, sister and cousins.  We love you   Lucas Mark Valentine!

Happy (2013) New Year!

Hope you all had a Happy New Year today.  We had a great time the eve before with the Valentine Family.  We decided we'd had enough and watched the ball drop at 10:00 p.m. on a Spanish Channel. (it WAS midnight in New York anyways!)  It was hilarious to listen to all of us trying to count backwards in Spanish from diez to uno.  (I didn't do so good.)  Made for some good laughs.   We had some bubbily sparkling apple cider (been in the fridge since last year) and called it a night.
Now for my New Year's Resolution:  GET MY BLOG CAUGHT UP and maybe keep it up.  (Maybe my girls will do the same!)
