Happy Thanksgiving!

Mark and I spent Thanksgiving with the Call Family in Mesa.  It was absolutely gorgeous weather the entire time - we had a wonderful time  - it was hard to come back to the cold weather here!
Grams made enough pie filling for the army!

Beautiful day to hang Christmas lights!

We called Reese for her 4th birthday on the 26th.  She was one excited little girl!  I saw her the week before and gave her a new blanket (which Bronson loved!)

Thirty years ago today, Nov. 20, 1981 we decided to go to the Logan Temple to celebrate our 2nd  anniversary.  We went to dinner and then bought a new Christmas "cassette" to listen to on the way home.  At the Newton/Mendon intersection another vehicle (drinking and decided not to stop at the stop sign and broadsided us.   I was thrown out the windshield (seatbelts were not enforced or worn too much back then - big mistake!).  Mark was tangled in the steering wheel but managed to get out and find me. He thought the truck was on fire so he drug me up by the road. (It was really just dust).  Roy and Anne (Mark's sister) had been to the temple also with some friends and were on their way home when they saw the accident.  They were with a Highway Patrolman so they stopped to help.  The first thing I remember is Roy standing over me asking me if I'm okay.  I said my legs really hurt which he said was a good thing!
We took an ambulance ride to the Logan Hospital with all of us (4 people) in the same one.   Mark's parents met us at the hospital to take Mark home.  He had some broken ribs.  I was admitted with torn ligaments in my shoulder.  (Legs weren't broken!)  I was released the next day to go home.  I looked like heck and was extremely sore for a while but very grateful to be alive!
Katie (who had just turned 1) was at Roy and Anne's with their kids when we went to the Temple.  She stayed with them for a couple of days while we recovered.
I know we were being watched over that night.  So many "tender mercies" were given to us and we are so thankful and grateful for all of them.  We still love to go to the Temple!
Mark was so sad about his totaled brand new truck.  We went over to get everything out of it.  We never did get the cassette out of it.  It had a camper shell on it which was thrown off - it's sitting in the back of the truck.  ...and yes I look extremely scarry but I wanted to document this story.
