SCHMIDT'S - EST. SEPT. 26, 2008

My beautiful niece Calie Clouse was married to Paul Schmidt on Friday in the the SLC Temple. It was a gorgeous day and I was so happy to be able to be at her wedding and see Kent, Shelley and most of their family. (Some of the kids weren't able to come and Jake's on a mission.)

REMEMBER SEPTEMBER...

Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom today! She's everything a mom/grandma should be and they just don't come any better! Have a wonderful day mom (stay in bed as long as you want!!!)

Singing Happy Birthday to Abby on Skype.

Playing with all the animals we found! She loved them.

More fun with animals.

Yes, I rule the roost at Grama's!
Reesie Peesie and all the animals -

I've had a de-junking/cleaning bug lately so I thought I better act on it before it left! I pulled everything out of the closet upstairs that tends to collect junk and stuff. I sorted, DI'd, and trashed. It took ALL DAY LONG but was nice to get it done. I'm afraid my "bug" has left now

It sprinkled a little (notice the ponchos!) but not much.

We went to a Toby Keith concert with Grace and Jim last weekend. It was a lot of fun (although Toby Keith was a little tipsy to begin with!). The dinner was good, (some) of the music was good, our seats were great, and the entertainment next to our table was interesting! We hoped their were a lot of "designated" drivers that night! Thanks Tustisons for the invitation. We had a lot of laughs!

WARNING - BLOG OVERLOAD!

This is a warning - I've been blogging all evening trying to get caught up! Mark is gone to Wyoming to pick up his folks so this was a good time blog!
(You might not see another one for a while after this!)

CORN OFF THE COB

Melanie and I took a trip to Spanish Fork last Fridayto do some corn. ( Thanks to Landon for picking it all! ) We started out in the backyard and had to move to the front to get in the shade! it was so hot. What a lot of work - but so nice to have!

Reesie loved it!
Kody didn't! He'd throw it on the ground!

FAIR TIME

Here's a couple of pictures from the County Fair. I'll just say we had a "fair" time this year! All the girls and grandkids came up on Wednesday to help out with the booth. Jed was able to come on Friday. The stomach flu went through ALL of us so we staggered our time helping out.
Thanks for coming to help everyone! Next year will be better I'm sure!

In our official B&M shirts - (before the flu bug hit!)

Master of the booth!

Best part of the fair!

DAD TURNS 80!

My dad turned 80 years old on August 15th! We had a party for him a week early in Mesa at Jeanie and Max's house. (Thanks Max and Jeanie!) We had a great time being together as a family and enjoyed every minute! I think we were busy every waking minute and looked forward to going to bed at night! Below are some pictures of our time together. (I stole all these pictures from my girls blogs!)

EX-AUGUST-ING

I was hoping to update before August was over. Oh well, it's only September 1st!
August was extremely busy with lots of fun things. I was able to go to Virden for a Jones Reunion. It was so fun to see a lot of relatives that I haven't seen for years.
Dad and Mom in front of the old homestead. (That is the most comfortable porch swing ever made!) Kent and Shelley live there now. Thanks for letting us stay with you!
Mom admiring the pecan trees
The silos out back of our house - I remember seeing baby owls down in one of them. My dad also had to get a baby calf out of one of them!
Fields by the house.
Our Jones cousins Terry, Geralyn and Pam and my sister Nyla and brother Kent intently listening to Jeanie's wild childhood story! We had such a great time catching up. We spent many, many hours at each other's homes growing up in Virden.
Shelley and Kent's with some of their family (Kyle, Karen, Trey and Emily)
My cousin Marla (husband Jeff) and Aunt Jessie
Some of Uncle Sterling's family - Don, Sherrie, Aunt Iva, Keith, and Margo
My Dad and his brother Merlin (his wife Carmelita)
Mom, baby Kadyn, Trey and Karen
We were able to see my darling little niece Emily perform at her piano and voice recital. She did awesome and even won an award! Thanks for letting us come Emily!
Emily and Kyle listening to Aunt Jeanie tell stories about their dad!
More stories!
(oops! - out of order!) Jeanie, Karen, Kadyn, Emily, Shelley and Carole at the recital.
Emily showing us the Boston Terrier puppies that they raise. We always had a Boston Terrier when we were kids - Spike, Skipper, Skippy were some I remember).
